Hey all you pre-school kiddies!!!! I thought I'd draw something that sort of represents my pre-school days on the animation playground here at Nickelodeon Animation. It's a lot of fun, and I would say producing and directing Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go and Ni Hao Kai lan are the most rewarding challenges in my career. I've been here at Nickelodeon since 2000 and have been involved with about 250 episodes of pre-school. Thinking and "reverse engineering" your film-making knowledge to adapt to a pre-schooler's way of thinking and vision is an amazing process. The bottom line is that kids love the shows and it changes their lives everyday! As my good friend and mentor said, "We're all fake adults" for we all have little kids inside all of us!" Take care gang and I'll see you all out on the playground. HA! HA! HA! HA! Your Pre-school Pals.....Dora, Kai lan, Diego and your pre-school pal......Jeff
HEY ALL YOU DRAG RACING RAT FINK FANS!!! HERE'S THE KING OF FINKY RATS, HIMSELF IN HIS NITRO-POWERED PEDAL CAR!!! A LITTLE SOMETHING THAT POPPED INTO MY HEAD, ON THE WAY TO NICKELODEON THIS MORNING. TAKE CARE AND HAVE A FINKY TIME!!!
I always get asked who were and are some people that inspired me the most as an artist. here's a group of guys that really got my creative side of my brain going!! Chuck Jones, Charles Schultz, Jack Davis, M.C. Escher, Tex Avery and Ed "Big Daddy" Roth; to name a few. Ed Roth was my first big inspiration to draw when I was a younger kid of about 7 years old. There's more, but these guys are at the top of the heap. And don't forget to visit me at my Drag Fink and at Frederator!!!
I've always liked cartoons, animation, hot rods and drag racing. Ed "Big Daddy" Roth was my first great inspiration to draw. Other inspirations were Charles Shultz, Chuck Jones (who mentored me and started me in the animation business), Jack Davis of Mad Magazine fame, M.C. Escher and Tex Avery. I've been working in the animation business for 20 years and currently at Nickelodeon Animation producing Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go! and Ni hao Kai-lan. Prior to Nickelodeon. Also while at Nickelodeon, I created and produced The Finster Finster Show! short for Frederator. Earlier in my animation career I worked at Chuck Jones Productions, Spumco, Warner Bros. Walt Disney Studios, Universal, DreamWorks, FOX Kids Network, and Carsey Werner NBC. I'm married with three cartoon kids and originally from NJ. I also like TV shows of the 50's and 60's and love watching cartoons especially early MGM and Warner Bros cartoons. I've been also honored by becoming an official Ed "Big Daddy" Roth artist and is the official Ed "Big Daddy" Roth artist of the year for 2008!!!! As of 2006, I became a member of The Standard 1320 nostalgic drag racing group.
